Aimpes dates back to the old leather workers’ Corporations and became Animpec in 1946, the first Italian professional association for leather workers. In 1966 it became Aimpes, the Italian association of leather manufacturers. Today it represents all the most important manufacturers of leather and synthetic products at every level.
Aimpes: it promotes development and professional training in the sector and it co-ordinates initiatives that raise the profile of Italian fashion leather production.
AIMPES promotes Mipel, a trade fair held twice a year in Milan.

Founded in 1949, The Associazione Italiana Pellicceria (AIP) represents at a national level the interests of breeders , importers and wholesalers of skins, tanneries, retailers and manufacturers, craftsmen, stylists, designers and workers, agents and representatives, companies specialized in the clearing and storage of furs and in machinery, equipment and accessories for the fur industry.
AIP is registered with the Federations of Italian Trade, Industry and Handicrafts.
Organized in ten regional and interregional bodies, the Associazione Italiana Pellicceria is registered with the International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF) with headquarters in London. With more than 1,200 members it encapsulates the business and craftsmanship quality of the Italian fur sector.
In 1997 founded the Ente Fieristico Mifur, that organizes every year in Fiera Milano Mifur, The International Fur and Leather Exhibition and in 2004 founded AIP Study Centre, the first centre entirely dedicated to the world and fashion of fur, a research Library-Archive centre with an international scope

Anfao, the Italian Optical Goods Manufacturers’ Association represents virtually all of Italy’s eyewear companies and currently has over 100 members. It was established in Milan in 1954 to pursue a number of objectives: first and foremost to generate profitable synergies among the member companies and, in a spirit of complete cooperation, promote their interests at national and international level. Its ultimate goal is to promote the Italian eyewear companies which have always been associated with quality throughout the world. Anfao also safeguards the interests of its member companies and promotes industry projects and strategies, including Mido, the international trade exhibition in Italy. Anfao is a member of Eurom 1, European Federation of the Optical and Precision Mechanics Industry, which represents the various interests of the optical and precision mechanics industry and promotes cooperation at European level.

Anci, the association for Italian shoe manufacturers founded in 1945, has been the leading organisation for its sector for several decades and it has always played a determining role in the affirmation and consolidation of this key sector of Italian industry. A sector which has grown exponentially in recent times, adding value to the Italian tradition in the manufacture of leather goods and facilitating the transformation of this small consumer item into an object of design, elegance, desire and seduction. SMI, Italian Fashion System, the Textile and Fashion Federation, is a professional national federation, member of Confindustria, being one of the world’s largest organizations representing the textile and fashion industry.
The Federation represents a sector, with about 430,000 employees and more than 50,500 companies, that is a mainstay of Italy’s economy and manufacturing industry.
In 2012 the total national turnover in tis sector was approximately 50,4 billion euros, a decrease of -4,4% over 2011, representing approximately 30% of the entire turnover for Europe and a significant percentage of the total balance of trade for Italian commerce.
The Federation protects and promotes the interests of the sector and its members. It represents the entire industry on a national and international level and maintains relations with government agencies, public administration, and with economic, political, labor, and social organizations.
SMI groups its member into 8 sections (yarns and their preparation, weaving, textile treatments, household textiles, knitwear, lingerie and hoisery, ready-to-wear, various textiles and components), which cover the entire range of merchandise manufactured in this sector.
One of SMI's institutional objectives is to enhance and promote business in the sector in Italy and in other countries, stimulating and promoting the internationalisation process.

The Italian Cultural Association of the Vintage Fashion Hunters was founded in 2005 with the mission of promoting Vintage fashion by supplying and popularizing pieces of information and news, organizing exhibitions, events, classes and workshops on demand. Every month of February and September, it organizes its own show called Vintage Workshop® Trends Forecasts which takes place in Milan, as well as in other Italian towns with the On-tour format. In January and July, in the centre of Florence the showroom Vintage Workshop® On Target takes place only by appointment with well-established customers reaching the city to attend the Pitti Immagine Filati too.
All these events, unique in this genre in Italy, are aimed at presenting a quality selection of the best and most unique vintage fashion accessories and period garments in order to inspire the fashion professionals and focus their attention on new hints and ideas for projecting their future collections.
These special Vintage exhibitions are particularly targeted at an audience of designers, product managers, Hi-Fashion and Ready-to-Wear Companies, cool-hunters, stylists, buyers.
From April 2011 on, the Association organizer will promote at the Unaway Hotel Bologna-Fiera
the new venue Vintage Workshop® Bologna for Luxury Fashion, special presentation during Lineapelle Fair and consequent on the Milanese show. Here, once again, a completely new high-hand selected assortment of shoes, purses and fancy leather accessories will be placed.
This shopping show will display a selection of the most creative and best selling Vintage exemplars which are feasible to become future masters or icons of style in fashion.
Admission restricted to fashion pros by appointment in the morning and with non-stop free opening noon until night. In this location the entrance will be free of charge for consolidated customers and upon paying registration for new visitors and non-customers (gift gadget included with opportunity of entrance fee full refund after the 1st purchase). Video and pics shooting strictly not allowed.
