September 8th 2010: the birth of Milano Fashion City.
The capital of the Lombardy region, symbolic home of fashion, will welcome over 45 leading representatives from right across the fashion spectrum, as well as the cultural, artistic and music scenes, to explore the system and reveal a buzzing and absorbing city.
Diverse yet complementary entities under the same roof for the first time: institutions, trade fairs, the business world, artisan workshops, showrooms, trade associations and businesses, enterprises, the fashion education system, and numerous other groups that embody the soul of the city.
Milano Fashion City, with its unique message also at international level, communicates synergically, promotes events, and creates a broad network of services for citizens and visitors from all over the world.
The numerous events organised by sector operators, just like the initiatives developed for the project, were conceived according to a common and shared agenda.
To meet the requirements of visitors, special services have been implemented in association with important partners: welcome services in Milan airports, IT tools at the trade fair districts of Rho Pero and Fiera Milano City, and a permanent welcome point in the Fashion Apartments of via Alessandria in the Tortona district. It will also be possible to take advantage of discounts and special terms in some hotels and shops.
Milano Fashion City also drafts, in association with Fashion Illustrated, a bilingual Guide that can be downloaded from the website. 60,000 copies of the guide will be distributed to airports, trade fairs and strategic points in the city.
